Thesis Program

Within the framework of the Graduate Regulation of the Higher Education Institution dated February 6, 2013, the opportunity for non-thesis graduate graduates to apply to doctoral programs has been eliminated. With the thought that there may be students who are planning to continue their doctorate programs at Boğaziçi University or another university in Turkey, among the non-thesis master's graduates, a new Software Engineering Second Education Non-Thesis Master's Program in addition to the Software Engineering Second Education Thesis Graduate Program was established.

With the establishment of the Software Engineering Second Education Master's Program with Thesis;

For students who plan to continue their doctoral programs at Boğaziçi University or another university in Turkey, the regulatory obstacle has been removed,

Since the graduates of the Software Engineering Second Education Non-Thesis Master's Program who will be accepted to the Computer Engineering Department Doctorate Program will be expected to graduate from the Software Engineering Second Education Master's Program with thesis, instead of applying a separate Master's Thesis, the prerequisite thesis courses in the doctoral program are the prerequisites. time loss is prevented,

Since those who apply to the Computer Engineering Department Doctorate Program will have completed a Master's thesis, their doctoral applications will be evaluated much more soundly,

For graduates of the Non-Thesis Master's Program who would prefer to work in the informatics/software sector as a graduate of the thesis Master's Program, instead of working in the informatics/software sector, especially in the context of R&D manpower employment, the opportunity to specialize in the software engineering field, which is very important to our country, can be offered.

According to Boğaziçi University Graduate Regulations, transfer from the Software Engineering Second Education Non-Thesis Master Program to the Software Engineering Second Education Master's Program is possible. All credits taken in the Software Engineering Second Education Non-Thesis Master's Program are transferred to the Software Engineering Second Education Master's Program with Thesis. Students who are transferred to the Master's Program with Thesis are expected to enroll in SWE 59A and SWE 690 thesis courses and then SWE 59B and SWE 690 thesis courses and complete their thesis studies preferably in two semesters. The maximum student period is the same as for other master's programs with thesis.
