Non-Thesis Program Application Requirements

Applications are made online to the Registrar's Office twice a year, for the Fall and Spring terms. Application conditions, application dates and quotas are announced on the homepage of the university in April for the Fall semester and in December for the Spring semester. The exact dates regarding the application periods are announced in the "Bogazici University Academic Calendar" at the beginning of each academic year.

Non-Thesis Master's Program Application and Admission Requirements:

Grade Point Average (GPA): 2.00/4.00 (A minimum GPA of 2.00, which is already required for graduation from any 4-year undergraduate program of a university or college, is sufficient for application.)

ALES: ALES and/or GRE/GMAT exam results are not required.

English Proficiency Certificate: (Candidates can apply without an English proficiency document. If they are accepted, they must submit it at the latest on the registration date.)

BU English Proficiency (BUEPT) minimum C, TOEFL® 550, TWE 4.5, TOEFL® (IBT) 79, TWE 22, IELTS Academic 6.5, Academic Writing Section: 6.5

BUEPT, TOEFL and IELTS exams are valid for 2 years.

Official Transcript: Required

Diploma: Undergraduate diploma or temporary graduation certificate (For candidates who have not graduated yet, a letter stating that they can graduate)

Disciplinary Registration Document: T.C. It is compulsory for applicants from their universities.

Letter of Purpose (Letter of Intent)

Reference Letter: At least 2 (two) (Reference letters can be obtained from a faculty member or, if any, from an authorized person in the institution where the candidate works.)

Curriculum Vitae: In addition to your GPA, English level, references, interview results (if any), your work experience (if any) is important for your admission to the program.

Science Exam: Candidates who apply to the program and pass the pre-selection must attend the online science exam, which proceeds in the form of an oral interview. In the interviews, questions are generally asked about the applicant's undergraduate education, undergraduate graduation project, internships, if any, interest in software engineering, goals in this field, software projects completed and other projects, and work experience, if any.
