Admission and Registration

Grade Point Average, graduated university/college, English proficiency and level, content of reference letters, interview results and work experience, if any, are among the criteria for admission to the program.

It is also possible to apply to the program without an English proficiency document. Students who meet the other criteria but do not have a language proficiency document can be admitted conditionally, provided that they present their language proficiency documents by the end of the registration date of the semester at the latest. Students who cannot provide the language proficiency document until the registration date of the semester they applied for lose their right to enroll.

Candidates who have completed any 4-year undergraduate program and aim to specialize in Software Engineering can also apply to the program. Candidates who graduated from different undergraduate programs are accepted conditionally to take the prerequisite courses before starting the main courses of the program. Which prerequisite courses should be taken by the candidates is decided by the application committee by evaluating the applicant's application documents and interview results.

All candidates who apply to the program and pass the pre-selection must participate in the online science exam, which proceeds in the form of an oral interview. In the oral interviews, the candidate's basic programming knowledge (variables, loops, control structures, basic data structures, functions) is evaluated.

Students accepted to the program are determined by the recommendation of the Computer Engineering Department Board and the decision of the Board of Directors of the Graduate School of Science, and announced in the link https://www.boun.edu.tr/tr-TR/Content/Duyurular/Duyurular. Students who are accepted to the program are expected to register for the semester in which they are admitted. Students who do not register in the semester they are accepted lose their registration rights.
